Rulebook
Welcome to Enact South Asia RP, an immersive and vibrant roleplaying world inspired by the diversity, culture, and stories of South Asia. Our server is dedicated to fostering high quality roleplay (RP) where every player contributes to creating authentic and meaningful interactions. Players are encouraged to respect the environment, engage in deep character development, and immerse themselves in South Asia’s complex social and cultural fabric.
1. Immersion Above All
1.1. Character First
- Inhabit Your Role: You are always expected to think, act, and speak as your character.
Imagine what they would do or say, not what you would do as a player.
- Unique Identities: Create characters with clear backgrounds and distinct South Asian
influences, whether from small towns, bustling cities, or remote villages. Avoid stereotypical or
overused character types and aim for something nuanced and culturally relevant.
1.2. Realistic Reactions
- Grounded in Reality: Your character’s actions should be in line with real-world
consequences. Unrealistic behavior, such as dismissing injuries, surviving impossible scenarios,
or acting with superhuman abilities, is prohibited. - Cultural Authenticity: Respect the cultural context of South Asia when crafting your
character’s behavior, language, and customs. Engage with traditional values, family dynamics,
regional differences, and local lifestyles.
2. Storytelling and Character Progression
2.1. Narrative Depth
- Create Story Arcs: Players should invest in long-term character development, creating
ongoing storylines. Quick fixes, instant success, or rushing plot points detract from the overall
RP experience.
- Collaborative Creativity: Work with others to build interesting narratives, whether it’s
familial drama, political intrigue, or small-scale rivalries. The server thrives on interconnected
stories that develop organically.
2.2. Choices Have Consequences
- Character Accountability: Every decision your character makes should be meaningful.
Actions like starting a business, joining a gang, or running for office should have logical
consequences. Escaping consequences is unrealistic.
Risk and Reward: If your character chooses to engage in high-stakes activities, such as
criminal enterprises or political corruption, expect to face risks. There is no immunity from
failure, arrest, or public backlash.
3. Crime and Conflict RP
3.1. Focus on Subtlety
- Understated Crime: Crime in South Asia can be nuanced and deeply rooted in local
power structures. Focus on organized crime, political corruption, and economic manipulation
rather than simple, over-the-top violence. - Balance and Restraint: Criminals should be mindful of their impact on the server.
Large-scale crimes should be planned and executed with care. Random, unnecessary acts of
violence disrupt serious RP.
3.2. Conflict Is Story-Driven
- Strategic Conflict: Conflict should be driven by in-character motives and story arcs. If
you’re engaging in a rivalry, make sure it serves a larger narrative and leads to meaningful
outcomes, rather than repetitive violence or power grabs. - Resolution Before Escalation: Try to resolve disputes through dialogue, negotiation,
or alliances before resorting to violence. Long-standing feuds or tensions should have a
believable progression.
4. Societal Roleplay
4.1. Reflection of South Asia’s Complexity
- Family and Community Ties: Emphasize the importance of family, community, and
social networks. South Asia is known for its strong familial bonds, so these dynamics should
play a central role in your RP. - Social Hierarchies and Traditions: Engage with societal structures, such as caste, class,
and local traditions. These can create fascinating RP opportunities and storylines reflecting
real-world challenges.
4.2. Professional and Civil Roleplay
- Player-Driven Economy: Businesses, professions, and trades should reflect the diverse
economy of South Asia. Characters could own textile factories, manage small street food stalls,
or be high-powered lawyers. Every business should add depth to the server. - Political Power: The world of politics, bureaucracy, and public service offers rich RP
possibilities. Characters should aim to be more than just officials; engage in power struggles,
corruption scandals, or grassroots movements.
